Most organisations treat
people development as a
learning problem
We treat it as a business
performance problem
Most organisations treat people development as a learning problem
We treat it as a business performance problem

This belief sits behind our simple idea: grow your people, grow your business.
In the world’s leading technology companies, this approach is well understood. Having worked inside these environments, we’ve seen first-hand how deliberately developing the capability of leaders and managers supports organisations as they grow and become more complex.
Scaling organisations could benefit from the same support, but many are not yet large enough to build the internal infrastructure required.
Alkemy exists to bridge that gap.
Our principles

Context before content
Before designing anything, we focus on understanding the business problem we are trying to solve.
Capability development only works when it reflects the environment people actually operate within – the organisation, the strategy, and the challenges leaders are navigating.
Good design starts with diagnosis, not delivery.
Focus on impact
We prioritise the few things that will make a meaningful difference.
Rather than trying to do everything, we help organisations identify the two or three changes that will have the greatest impact on performance and focus attention there.
Small shifts in the right places can create outsized results.

Function over form
We focus on building development that is practical, usable, and grounded in the reality of work.
Tools, frameworks, and experiences should help leaders make better decisions, have better conversations, and operate more effectively.
Practicality and usefulness matter more than theoretical models or polished design.

Our Founder
About our founder

Alkemy was founded by Adam Lancaster, a leadership and learning leader who has spent his career building capability inside fast-growing organisations including Meta, Coupang, the Financial Times and Channel 4.
Working inside these environments provided first-hand experience of how leadership capability evolves as organisations scale – from early growth through to global organisations operating at significant scale.
That experience now informs Alkemy’s work with organisations navigating similar challenges.
Alkemy also works with a network of experienced partners and specialists depending on the needs of each engagement.
